Frank's color test

I've been switching it up to see if i can find the right colors for Frank.

I've been getting a lot of feed back from Facebook that 2, 3 and 7 are the best color combinations.  I'll probably just keep playing with it till it feels right.

here's a character i took a whack at:  It's Frank McKay's dad!  Oh yeah, i named my otter character Frank.  Anyway, here ya go:

Oh, and i made a poster design for my preproduction class.  Frank is going to explore the northwest of the 1800's USA!

progress...

Here's what i've been working on this week.

It started out with a sketch,

Which i drew again with a black pencil,

and then inked in illustrator,

and colored in photoshop,

and later revised and remained unhappy with it.  However, i did figure out how to paint ink lines in photoshop(which is something i've been working on for a few months).

Sorry i've been out lately...

Hey all who read this blog,

Sorry i dropped off the map there for awhile.  I went to comic-con this year, and decided to continue posting all the sketchbook month stuff to my facebook.  If you'd like to keep up with all my work you can subscribe to my feed.  Anywho, here's something to fill the gap for now.

This is the direction I am going with my work at the moment.  If i will try to remember to post stuff here more often.

Hey all! I'm not dead!

Hey all you out in cyberspace, although I haven't posted since April, I am not dead, I am just slow to post.

Also, another announcement: I will be having another sketchbook month starting this Sunday. That's right! Expect a new sketch every day here for the whole month of July.

Since sketchbook month I haven't posted anything (mostly because I was too busy juggling school and work (and a work related illness I refer to as the 'thunder flu') to do any good sketching), but today I had a little breather and got to sketch this pic of Frank.

I'm still not sure what he's saying, but it looks like he's been waiting to say it for a long time.

It's finally April tomorrow, which means I've been doing this for a month now. I'm actually very proud of myself for not missing a day.
